So Monica Ballard and I have a new book coming out, titled Onward & Upward: Rocket Fuel for Your Business.
It’ll look something like this:
And as you might guess, it focuses on advertising and marketing with a few chapters on general entrepreneurship as well. It consists of 24 short page-and-a-half to two-page chapters, so it’s a quick read, and guaranteed to bring at least one Big Idea per chapter. Ideal for an airplane ride, or bathroom reading.
And, truth be told, this is actually a compilation of columns that Monica and I wrote for The Compass magazine.
If you’re not familiar with SGI, it stands for Success Group International, and is made up of several home services and contractors membership groups, including those for HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and electrical companies.
The Compass is the official members-only magazine of SGI and they invited me to write a monthly column for them shortly after I became their exclusive mass media branding expert, which is a story I covered in my last blog post.
At any rate, Monica and I have written a marketing column every month for the last 4 years, and we eventually decided to make a “Best Of Album” from those columns, which really do represent some of our best thoughts, strategies, and advice for owner-operated companies looking to grow and grab market share.
